JAMES HEARN FUND
Following the tragic death of James in 2003, a large number of his family and friends made generous donations to a fund set up as an alternative to floral tributes. The total sum contributed £1,072.27 was given to Gonerby Youth Football Club for whom James played for several years.

Following discussions with James’ parents and brother it was agreed that Gonerby YFC should purchase equipment which would be of benefit to a large number of people within the club. The club had a pressing need to replace the moveable goals which were used by all the teams that play at the Great Gonerby Recreation Ground. The previous moveable goals had become dangerous and broken after several years constant use.

In January the new moveable goals were eventually delivered, assembled and used for the first time.

The club is most privileged and grateful to be the recipient of the money raised for James and I’m sure his old teammates will think of him every time they put the new goals out for their matches next season.

Thank you, James.
