Man Of The Match
Report

Gonerby Blues provided the hardest opponents for league leader Helpringham this season and were very unlucky not to come away with a draw, Blues got off to a flying start with two early goals the first one from Hubert and then a excellent goal from Zack from a perfect layoff in the penalty box from Shane. This game was end to end commitment from both teams, Blues kept chasing and fighting for the ball but pressure form Helping ham left Blues conceding 2 goals just before half time, The commitment and desire to win from Gonerby continued in the second half but they were unable to put away the chances. The Blues defence continued to hold ever increasing pressure form Helpringham but they went behind after a well taken goal. Gonerby then went shriving for a equaliser and were awarded a penalty which was converted by Ashley. A excellent stop from Ryan wells in goal prevented the first attempt on goal by Helpringham and he was very unlucky to loose sight of the ball and Helpringahm pounced for their fourth.

Blues never gave in and contributed to press for a equaliser and were very unlucky not to get a goal when Jack broke free but was ruled offside. No team has provided such stiff competition for Helpringham this season who have won all previous matches very convincingly and should be rightfully proud of this performance which continues to bodes well for the future the interplay down the wings from Shane and Luke was once again very successful along with Danny and Hubert speed up front Defensively Blues also held Helpringham to the fewest goals this season so far, and was a fine performance and the head of Thomas and William kept intercepting the constant balls forward form Helpringham Joseph was as reliable as ever providing many last man tackles to break down the attack Daniel and Thomas ably kept the wings safe. Josh and Zack once again provided the combative half of the midfield

The football of Blues continues to improve and the passing interplay and defensive line continue to improve match on match. along with whole team becoming more versatile by rotation and positional changes, which will strengthen the whole squad and prove invaluable during the season.
